About us

Welcome!

Resurrection Power Church Norway is a congregation rooted in the faith, love, compassion and power of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Our passion and preoccupation is to spread the news of the urgency and immediacy of His Second Coming to all peoples, to free sinners from the power and captivity of Satan and to bring them back to God their Creator, the holy and loving Father. We teach God's path of righteous living and seek to equip believers to lead victorious Christian lives through the triumphant exercise of their God-given authority over demonic powers, hostile circumstances and all evil and contrary forces. From our head office in Oslo, Norway, we seek to grow and nourish the RESURRECTION POWER CHURCH family worldwide, to encourage and equip our members and partners to live by faith in prayerful dependency on God.

ALL those who seek to experience and walk in the life-giving resurrection power of the Lord Jesus Christ are our friends and partners and potential members. We invite you to join us!!!

The pastors

Resurrection Power Church Norway is headed by Dr. Ferkah Ahenkorah and assisted by his wife Mrs. Felicia Ahenkorah. The couple had a calling so many years ago from the Holy Spirit to build a church for Christ. They however had to go through a long gestation period of training and apprenticeship in another church where they established several assemblies. Dr Ahenkorah has served in various offices and capacities in church administration in Norway: as deacon, youth leader, elder, presiding elder, accountant, chairman of the finance board, church administrator, national witness leader, member of the national executive council of the church, and finally as church superintendent (forstander)..  Pastor Ahenkorah has among others a calling and gift as evangelist, teacher and minister of the Word. His weekly Bible messages in the facebook program Christ to Every Home Project have been a blessing to many believers. He has published several books including a guide for spiritual growth and church management for ministers and other church leaders entitled The Secret of the Successful Christian Ministry (2014). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oslo.

Assistant Pastor Rev. Mrs. Ahenkorah has also served in several capacities of church administration in Norway, precisely as deaconess, women’s leader of a local assembly and Assistant Leader of the Women’s Ministry of a national church. She has a calling as evangelist. Her messages of encouragement and edification are broadcast weekly on facebook in the program Hour of Hope, Life and Resurrection and has several hundreds of followers. She is also a competent teacher of the Word of God and a counseller on family and marriage matters. Her prudence, tact and Spirit-led mediation has rescued many troubled marriages and otherwise helped many families.

The pastoral couple have five children, including two minors a boy and a girl who are active in the children’s ministry. Their older daughter Deborah Ahenkorah runs the children’s Sunday school and has oversight of the children’s ministry.

Our history

The Resurrection Power Ministry was founded on Sunday 18 th September 2016 in Gvarv, Telemark, when the first church service was held in the home of Pastor Ferkah Ahenkorah
and his family. However, after one year, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, the family had to move back to Oslo and re-establish the church in the capital city. The first meeting after the re-location to Oslo was in October 2017. The temporary meeting place for this maiden service and subsequent church services was on the fourth floor of Møllergata 40, a medium sized hall that was rented from Den Frie Evangeliske Forsamling Menigheten. However, in February 2018, the church moved to its present location at Økern in Oslo: Selma Ellefsens vei 2.

As a newly established church, we believe that by the grace of God and by the power of Holy Spirit, the greater history of this church lies more in the future than in the past

OUR VISION AND CORE VALUES

The ministry has a calling from the Lord to spread the Good News of the Lord Jesus and especially to proclaim news of His Second Coming across the globe for the salvation of mankind. Our church is a multifaceted ministry. In terms of faith, we are pentecostal, in terms of power charismatic and in terms of church administration presbyterian. The church is run at all levels by a presbytery of officers selected, vetted and ordained according to biblical standards. We also believe in the role of the Holy Spirit as the administrator of the church universal and aspire to walk and operate in His power and gifts at both the individual and corporate levels. Accordingly, we believe and uphold uncompromising tenacity the following cardinal principles which constitute our vision and core values:

  • Washing believers with the Word of God by teaching the true doctrine of salvation in order to keep them in a state of perpetual watchful readiness as the spotless and unblemished bride of Christ for the Rapture of the saints.
  • Spreading the message of the Second Coming of Christ to all nations and making disciples of all peoples.
  • Destroying the works of the devil and setting the captives free from Satan’s power in order to bring them to the rule of God through Christ.
  • Bringing glory to Christ by demonstrating His resurrection power and life in triumph over death, sickness and all negative forces.
  • Revealing Christ to people of all nations, races and languages so that they will increase in their knowledge of God.
  • To build a worldwide ministry which pushes backwards the frontiers of the kingdom of darkness, demonstrates God’s healing, miracle-working and deliverance power, spreads the culture of righteousness of God’s kingdom around the globe in order to ensure that the whole earth is covered with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.
  • To pursue the social responsibility of the church by initiating, carrying out and supporting projects of social development in the fields of education, health, social care, etc.; by promoting the respect for human dignity and the equality of all men through the inculcation of humane and life-promoting values; by demonstrating the compassion of Christ for an ailing world through works of relief, charity and assistance to the poor, the needy and handicapped.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

  1. THE BIBLE: We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures. That the Bible is infallible in its declaration, final in its authority, comprehensive and all-sufficient in its provisions (2Tim. 3:16, 17; 2 Pet. 1:20- 21).
  2. THE ONE TRUE GOD: We believe in the existence of the One True God, Elohim, maker of the whole universe; indefinable but revealed as Triune God – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Gen. 1:1, Gen 1:26; Mt 3:16-17: 28:19; 2 Cor. 13:14); one in nature, essence, and attributes – omnipotent (Dt 6:4; Isa 46:9,10; Rev. 19:6); omnipresent (Ps139:7-12; 147:5); omniscient (Job 42:2; Acts 5:4,5)
  3. MAN’S DEPRAVED NATURE: We believe that ‘all men have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Gen. 3:1-19; Isa 53:6; Rom. 3:23), and are subject to eternal punishment (Mt 13:41,42; Rom 6:23); and need repentance (Acts 2:38; Mt 4:17; Acts 20:21) and regeneration (Jn. 3: 3,5; Titus 3:5)
  4. THE SAVIOUR: We believe in man’s need of a Saviour has been met in the person of Jesus Christ (Mt 1:21; Jn. 4:42; Acts 2:36; Eph. 5:23; Philippians 2:6-11), because of His Deity (Isa. 9:6; Jn 1:1; 20:28; Rom. 9:5; Tit. 2:13,14), Virgin Birth (Isa. 7:14; Mt.1:18; Lk 1:26); Status as the Son of Man (Mt. 18:11; 20:28; Jn. 5:27, 6:53; Jn. 13:31; Acts 7:57; Rev. 1:13), Sinless Life (Jn 8:46; Heb 4:15; 2Cor 5:21); Atoning death (Rom. 3:25; Heb. 9:22; 1 Jn 2:2); Resurrection (Mt 28:5-7; Acts 2:24; 2:36; 10:39,40; 1 Cor 15:3,4) and Ascension (Acts 1:9-11; 2:33-36), His Abiding Intercession (Rom. 8:34; Heb. 7:25) and His Second Coming (Rev. 19:11-16).
  5. REPENTANCE, JUSTIFICATION AND SANCTIFICATION: We believe all men have to repent and confess their sins before God (Lk 15: 7; Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30) and believe in the vicarious death of Jesus Christ before they can be justified before God (Rom. 4:25; 5:1). We believe in the sanctification of the believer through the Word of God (Jn. 17:17) and the working of the Holy Spirit (1Cor. 1:30; 6:11) and God’s gift of eternal life to the believer (Jn. 17:2, 3; 10:27, 28; Rom 6:23b; 1 Jn. 5:11- 13)
  6. THE SACRAMENTS OF BAPTISM AND THE LORD’S SUPPER OR COMMUNION: We believe in the sacrament of Baptism by immersion as a testimony of a convert who has attained a responsible age of 13 years (Mt 3:16; Mt 28:19; Mk.1:9, 10; 16:16, Acts 2:38). Infants and children are not baptized, but are dedicated to the Lord (Mk 10:13-16; Lk 2:22-24, 34). We believe in the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion, which should be partaken of by all members of the church who are in full fellowship (Lk 22:19, 20; Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11: 23-33)
  7. BAPTISM, GIFTS AND FRUIT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for all believers with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues (Joel 2:28-32; Acts 2:3,4, 38,39; 10:44-46; 19:16), and in the operation of the gifts of grace (1 Cor. 12:8-11, Eph. 4::11) and the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Rom. 12: 6-8; Gal. 5:22- 23 and; 28-30).
  8. AUTHORITY OF THE BELIEVER, DIVINE HEALING AND MIRACLES: We believe that believers today have been anointed and authorized to walk in God’s supernatural power in the footsteps of the Lord Jesus Christ and the early Apostles and to demonstrate this power in the working of miracles, healing of sicknesses and diseases, casting out devils and exercising authority over even circumstances and even natural forces. (Isa. 53:4, 5; Mt 8:7-13; 16, 17; Mk 16:17-18, 18; Lk 10:19. 13:10-16; Jn. 14:12-14; Acts 10:38; Jas 5:14-16). However, the Church is not opposed to the application of the innovations of modern science and technology for humane purposes nor to believers and other people receiving medication from qualified medical practitioners, since God also sometimes heals people through doctors.
  9. TITHES AND OFFERINGS: We believe in tithing and in the giving of free will offerings towards the cause of carrying forward the Kingdom of God. We believe that God blesses a cheerful giver (Gen. 14: 18-20; Mal. 3:6-10; Mt 23:23; Acts 20:35; Heb 7:1-4; 1 Cor. 16:1, 2; 2 Cor.9:1-9)
  10. THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST AND THE NEXT LIFE: We believe in the second coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead - both the saved and the unsaved. They that are saved to the resurrection of life and the unsaved to the resurrection of damnation (Dan. 12:2; Mk 13:26; Jn. 5:28-29; Acts 1:11; 10:42; Rom. 2:7-11; 6:23).
